The Guest Room Checklist

The Guest Room Checklist

Posted by Larissa Cairns on

There are many things to think about during the holidays like how long you should really cook a turkey for or where those Christmas crackers from last year went…

One thing many of us forget to do until the very last minute is preparing the guest room. We’ve put together a few tips to get you organised before they arrive.

1 | Fresh Linen

Make up the guest room beds in advance. Before they arrive, freshen up your linens with a nice Lavender Linen Spray.

2 | Inventory Check

Most likely you’ll have more than expected guests arrive during the holidays. Now is a great time to check if you need any extra pillows, duvets, protectors or toppers, sheets and so on.

3 | Spare Towels

At the end of a long day the last thing you’ll want to do is run around the house looking for clean towels. Set out some spare towels before they arrive in another colour/texture so they’ll know which ones are theirs.

4 | Easy Nibbles

Whether its break
fast cereals or snacks for the kids, stock up your pantry with lots of little bits and bites just in case your guests get a bit peckish they can help themselves.

5 | Notes

I love to make things easy for guests because then it’ll be a breeze for me as a host. Write down a small note including the WiFi code or instructions on how to lock the door properly and leave it by the bed.

6 | Helpful Essentials

Own that 'Best Host Ever’ kudos with some essential items for the guest room that we tend to forget. Include an accessible mirror, hangers, laundry bags, iron and ironing board and toiletries.

Remember having friends and family stay over is a great way to spend more quality time. With this guest room checklist, you'll be ready for all those that come your way. The only issue may be getting them to leave...
